While Peter yet spake
Verse 44 (Act 10:44) is one of the pivotal points of Scripture. Heretofore, the Gospel has been offered to Jews only, and the Holy Spirit bestowed upon believing Jews through apostolic mediation. But now the normal order for this age is reached: the Holy Spirit is given without delay, mediation, or other condition than simple faith in Jesus Christ.
